I decided to retire in 2001 at the age of 61. I wanted to do something creative and chose photography.

I spent the next three years studying and was awarded my ARPS in 2003. At this point I was probably a competent photographer still looking for a voice.

Landscape photography appealed to me most since I love being in the countryside especially in more remote locations.

It was said by Andre Kurtez "it is not enough to photograph the landscape, you have feel it" I try to bring this element into my images with the subject matter clear and simple. Whether I succeed or not is not for me to say.

Another quote that I use is from Ansel Adams who said " the negative is the score and the print is the performance " which is why I pay particular attention to the printing side of photography. I see many good images ruined by inept printing.

I continue to learn and strive for improvement, it really isn't too late to learn new tricks.

I hope you will take time to view the galleries, comments and feedback are always welcome. The pictures are for sale but that is not the prime reason for taking them or showing them to you. I just hope you enjoy your visit.
